Athlete of the Month of June

Ronald Roiz Benedict P. Vistro is still a baby but his future is already sealed in the world of Wado Ryu Karate and may succeed his father in steering the helm of the Wado organization to its course. Roiz was born on November 24, 2008 at San Carlos City, Pangasinan to Sensei Ronald M. Vistro, the Shihan Renshi of WIKF-Philippines, and to Mrs. Elizabeth Paz-Vistro, a high school principal. His name “Roiz” is a combined word of his parents’ nicknames and “Benedict” in honor of the current pope, Benedict XVI. He is a Scorpion and his birthstone is Aquamarine. His physical features are striking --- a charismatic face with dimples at both cheeks, healthy looking with alluring eyes. But his best attribute is his being a “tisoy.” He was given an initial rank of 10th kyu (White Belt) on his birth day. So Wado wannabes, beware! Click here to see more featured athletes.

Profile of the Chief Instructor

Ronaldo M. Vistro Sensei is the Country Branch Chief Instructor for the Wado International Karate-Do Federation (WIKF). WIKF is founded by Grandmaster TatsuoSuzuki,8th Dan (Hanshi), the world exponent of authentic Wado-style karate. Sensei Vistro is one of the few Wado practitioners in the world directly trained by a Japanese master. A naval officer by profession, he is also a graduate of Journalism which defines his samurai-like character that is both strict and gentle..(click here more about Sensei)

Roiz, the only son of Sensei Ronald Vistro, is likely to follow his father’s footsteps in karate.

Rizalyn Resultay tucks gold and bronze medals in kumite and Kata respectively at the recently concluded National Private School Athletic Association (PRISAA) held Metro Naga Sports Complex, Naga City, Camarines Sur in Bicol Region last April 20-26, 2009.

Pangasinan Super Karate Challenge '09
